Dear compatriots!

Ladies and gentlemen! 

On the eve of the remarkable date in the life of our country – celebration of the Constitution Day, I am profoundly pleased to meet you in this beautiful and sublime palace of forums “Uzbekistan”. 

CENTRAL ELECTORAL COMMISSION ANNOUNCES PRELIMINARY RESULTS OF ELECTIONS

At a briefing held at the republican press centre for the coverage of Uzbekistan’s presidential elections, preliminary results of the elections have been announced.

The chairman of the Central Electoral Commission, M.Abdusalomov, has said that the 4 December 2016 elections of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan were held transparently on the basis of the national electoral law and internationally-recognized democratic principles.

PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF TURKEY ARRIVED IN UZBEKISTAN

President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan arrived in our country on 17 November.

The high-level guest was welcomed at the Samarkand International Airport by deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan A.Ikramov.

The main events of the visit are planned for 18 November.

The President of the Republic of Turkey will visit the burial site of the First President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov and will pay a tribute of respect to his memory.

MEETINGS OF THE DELEGATION OF UZBEKISTAN IN MECCA

On November 17, 2016, in Mecca, the delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan held meetings and talks with the State Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Nizar Madani and the new Secretary General of the OIC Yusuf bin Ahmad Al-Othaimeen.

Uzbekistan expands activities of free economic zones

On October 26, Interim President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoev signed a Decree "On additional measures for the intensification and expansion of activities of free economic zones".

CHINESE MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS TO VISIT UZBEKISTAN

On November 12, 2016 the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China Wang Yi will pay an official visit to Uzbekistan.

The state and prospects of cooperation between Uzbekistan and China, as well as regional and international issues will be discussed during bilateral meetings with the Foreign Minister of China in Tashkent.

Program of the visit of the Chinese delegation includes also a visit to Samarkand.

DELEGATION OF UZBEKISTAN VISITS JEDDAH

On November 5, 2016 the delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan took part in the meeting of the Executive Committee of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, which was held at the headquarters of the OIC General Secretariat in Jeddah (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia).

At the meeting the sides exchanged views on topical issues of the agenda of the organization, including the date of the extraordinary meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the OIC.

TELEPHONE CONVERSATION WITH PRESIDENT OF TURKMENISTAN

Acting President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on 26 October 2016.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev cordially congratulated Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov with the occasion of a significant date - the 25th anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence and wished him new successes in his responsible work, and the friendly people of Turkmenistan - the well-being and further progress.

SHAVKAT MIRZIYOYEV DISCUSSES COOPERATION WITH ALMAZBEK ATAMBAEV IN PHONE CONVERSATION

Acting President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with President of the Kyrgyz Republic Almazbek Atambaev on 26 October 2016 on the initiative of the Kyrgyz side.

The Heads of state exchanged views in detail on the state and prospects of developing Uzbek-Kyrgyz cooperation, particularly noting the significant positive dynamics on several key areas.

CONDOLENCES TO PRIME MINISTER OF PAKISTAN

The Acting President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev sent a message to the Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif in connection with numerous human victims of the terrorist attack on the police academy in Quetta.

The President expressed deep condolences to the Government and people of Pakistan and conveyed sincere sympathy to the families of those killed and to injured people.
